Reformer Pilates

At Finesse Movement, our Reformer Pilates classes are designed to help you move better, feel stronger, and live more comfortably in your body. Pilates is a method of slow, controlled movements that focus on precision and alignment. It’s not about powering through exercises—it’s about tuning into your body in detail. This makes Pilates ideal for improving performance in everyday life, preventing injuries, and even enhancing performance in elite sports.

We offer four progressive levels to suit every ability and experience level:

Our Beginners classes are the perfect starting point for everyone, regardless of fitness level or experience. Here, you’ll learn the fundamental movements of Reformer Pilates, focusing on technique and control to build a solid foundation.

Once you’ve gained confidence in the basics, Beginners Plus takes it up a notch. These classes introduce slightly more complex exercises to challenge your strength and coordination while reinforcing proper form.

Ready for a greater challenge? Improvers classes are designed for those who have a solid understanding of the basics and want to build strength, mobility, and endurance with more dynamic sequences.

Our most advanced level, Improvers Plus, is perfect for experienced Pilates practitioners looking to refine their skills and push their limits. These classes incorporate challenging exercises that demand focus, strength, and control.

Start Where You Are

No matter your fitness level or experience, we require all clients to begin with our Beginners classes. This ensures you understand the principles of Pilates and can perform the exercises safely and effectively.

Pre Natal Pilates

Pregnancy is a time of joy and anticipation, but it can also bring physical challenges. Engaging in exercise during pregnancy is not only safe but highly beneficial for both mom and baby. Here are some specific benefits of Reformer Pilates for pregnant clients:

As your body changes during pregnancy, maintaining core strength becomes vital for stability and support. Reformer Pilates focuses on strengthening the deep abdominal muscles, which helps to support your growing belly and reduce back pain.

As your baby grows, your centre of gravity shifts, often leading to changes in posture. Reformer Pilates emphasizes proper alignment and posture, helping you maintain a strong and stable stance as your body changes.

Strengthening the pelvic floor muscles is essential for preventing issues like incontinence and supporting the weight of your growing baby. Reformer Pilates includes exercises specifically designed to target the pelvic floor, promoting strength and stability in this area.

Pregnancy can make high-impact exercises uncomfortable or even risky. Reformer Pilates offers a low-impact workout that is gentle on your joints while still providing a challenging and effective workout.

Pregnancy can be a time of heightened emotions and stress. Reformer Pilates encourages mindfulness and body awareness, helping you connect with your changing body and find moments of peace and relaxation.

How It Works:

We run specific courses for our pregnancy Pilates.

Courses are 8 weeks long.  The course must be pre-paid.

Up to 2 classes may be used in the next course provided more than 24 hours notice is given.

If you give birth and you have unused sessions, this may be used in the first post natal course that is available to you.

Our Mixed Level Pilates classes are designed for both beginners and improvers. They’re the perfect way to keep your practice consistent — especially if your schedule is busy — because they’re usually placed at convenient times so you can always fit a class in.

Each class is 45 minutes long and offers plenty of options:

  • Newer clients can focus on mastering the basics at their own pace
  • Improvers can add progressions and challenges when they’re ready

You’ll move, strengthen, and stretch alongside others at different stages, with our instructors guiding you to the right level for your body.

Tower Reformer Pilates

Tower Reformer Pilates is a dynamic combination of the traditional Reformer and the Tower. By adding springs, bars, and straps to the Reformer carriage, the Tower expands the range of exercises you can do — giving you more variety, more challenge, and more support when you need it.

With the Tower, you can:

  • Build strength and tone using adjustable spring resistance
  • Improve posture and spinal mobility with supportive stretch work
  • Train balance and coordination with both assisted and resisted movements
  • Add variety to your Pilates practice so no two classes feel the same

Whether you’re a beginner or more experienced, Tower Reformer Pilates offers endless options to progress at your own pace. It’s especially loved for its mix of support + challenge — you feel guided and safe, while still working muscles in brand-new ways.
