Sports Massage is suitable for anybody engaging in regular physical activity as a means to prevent injury and aid recovery from sports or any other general physical activity.
Sports massage is suitable for both athletes and non athletes alike. It is beneficial when used to help prepare the body for a sporting event as it helps to keep the muscles healthy and supple. The strokes used are often lighter depending on when the massage is taken but the pressure can be increased if the event is not in the proceeding 24-48 hours.
Always discuss with your therapist if you are preparing for an event in the near future or you are recovering from an event in the recent past.
